We are looking for an experienced audiovisual Installation Engineer to be part of one of GV’s most successful branches based in the South West. This role is geographically area specific and will be aligned to your general location and our key accounts within that area.

Audio visual engineer vacancy in South Wales, Cardiff, Swansea

This interesting and varied position involves the installation of the very latest AV systems and exciting technologies into establishments within our sales area, working on your own and as part of a team.

You will need to be highly flexible and reliable with a positive attitude, often working to tight deadlines completing prestigious projects and helping to ensure that systems are commissioned and delivered on time, within budget and to a very high standard.

Previous experience in AV 1st and 2nd fix with crimp and solder termination is essential with data cabling (Cat5e-7) and fibre experience highly desirable. Rack integration, working from design schematics and accreditations in CTS or Prince 2 would be an advantage but not essential as we actively promote an ongoing training and personal development programme.

A passion for AV, high standard of workmanship and the ability to work with all members of the team is essential.

Your skills and key characteristics

  • Previous experience highly desirable and a keen interest in technology, particularly AV
  • Excellent communication skills and client focused.
  • Experience in all areas of AV Installation is highly desirable, as are accreditations in AVIXA / InfoComm CTS and other industry accreditations such as CEDIA or academic qualifications in related fields.
  • A highly detail-oriented approach in all aspects is required.
  • Flexible and adaptable, often working to tight deadlines with occasional additional hours.
  • As a key member of the team, you will need to be an excellent and disciplined communicator.

Desirable experience:

  • Experience of running teams of operatives working multiple sites and planning processes.
  • Experience or understanding of AV control system programming is desirable
